FEATURING ARTIST

AFI SOUL
WASHINGTON DC

Afi is the critically acclaimed R&B/Soul singer whose self-produced album Lovely has landed the No. 10 spot on the SoulTracks Top 10 CDs list putting her in a class with Erykah Badu, Angela Johnson, Algebra and Raheem Devaughn. Lovely was released in August of 2007. “Baby It’s Cold Outside”, the debut single from Lovely, is Afi’s supportive anthem for the “brothas”. This tune, with its sultry mid-tempo beat, is sure to become her signature tune. The Video for the single had regular rotation on BETJ and VH1 Soul andVH1 Soul's online radio station. "Sorry (I Gotta Go)", is a sassy, no nonsense hit that asserts a woman's independence which will be the second video to be aired soon.
Critics agreed that Lovely is a great debut album and praised Afi’s vocal and songwriting talents:
“This new Washington, DC female singer is going to please the Organic Soulsters and many more as well. Vocally she sounds similar to N’Dambi in places and Jill Scott in others.”

THE LOST BOIS
WASHINGTON DC

At the age of 12 two lost bois met and, in friendship found musical solidarity.  In their teens, A.O. and B.steady shared the stage as vocalists in a jazz band, falling in love with the nuances of the jazz standard.  Through college, the bois independently fostered their passions for music and founded The Q Crew; an all-female queer rap trio.  Upon their return to DC in the summer of '09, A.O. and B.Steady reunited with a fierce determination to challenge the sexist, racist, and homophobic hot-mess that is mainstream music.  The Lost Bois are revolutionizing the queer music scene with a mission to make wacky and silly music for the most serious of strugglers.

NIKKI McKNIGHT
ATLANTA GEORGIA

Coming from Columbus, Ga, Nikki McKnight akaYa Gyrl Terror is one of the illest emcees in the city to ever bless the mic. She got most of her recognition as half of one of the cities rawest groups known as the HoodKatz. Along with her partner, Young TY, who is also her blood relative, they blessed the streets of Columbus with hardcore street anthems and lyrics that stood out from what the other rap artists were bringing. Though the talented duo never failed its audience, the mainstream would not embrace them the same as the streets. They Nikki was too "hard" for a female artist. Some even pitched the idea of her to switch her street image to a more feminine one by pitching the "sex sales" story. The suggestions fell on def ears. "No amount of money can buy my self respect" says Nikki to anyone who even thinks to come at her with the idea. "First Impression" and "C-Town's Finest" were two albums between the duo crowned classic by the streets of Columbus, GA.
